The Good News You’ve Been Waiting For Day 2
Day 2: Behind the Mask
Find Sunday’s Sermon HERE
The human heart universally longs for forgiveness, cleansing, and justification - needs that can't be satisfied through worldly success or achievements. The resurrection of Jesus proves His death was sufficient payment for our sins, offering complete forgiveness through faith rather than personal merit. This transformative truth invites us to stop trying to prove our worth through achievements and instead receive God's acceptance as a gift through trusting in Christ. True belief goes beyond intellectual agreement to complete trust in Jesus, resulting in perfect standing before God.
Devotional
We all wear masks. Sometimes they're so comfortable we forget we have them on. We carefully curate our image, hoping no one sees behind the facade to who we really are. Why? Because deep down, we fear that if others truly knew us - our thoughts, our struggles, our failures - they would reject us. This universal experience of hiding reveals our deep longing for authentic acceptance. The amazing truth is that God already knows everything about us - even the parts we try to hide from ourselves - and He still loves us completely.
O Lord, you have searched me and known me! You know when I sit down and when I rise up; you discern my thoughts from afar. You search out my path and my lying down and are acquainted with all my ways. Even before a word is on my tongue, behold, O Lord, you know it altogether.
- Psalm 139:1-4
Reflection Question
What masks do you wear to protect yourself from being truly known by others? What difference does it make to know that God sees those hidden parts of your life?
To be known, to really be known, and to be accepted - that's what we want.
The problem is that we live in fear that if anyone took a peek behind the curtain of our hearts,
they wouldn't like what they see.

Prayer
Lord, I confess that I often hide behind masks, afraid to be truly known. Thank You that You see me completely and love me anyway. Help me rest in Your acceptance. Amen.
