The Straight Paths of the Lord Day 2
Day 2: Unexpected Seekers
God’s paths, while sometimes mysterious, are always straight and purposeful. Through Paul and
Barnabas’s missionary journey, we learn that God provides divine wisdom, draws people to seek Him,
and maintains His purpose despite opposition. He guides believers to find common ground with others
and plan strategically for future ministry. When following God’s direction, some people will seek His
truth, while others will oppose it. Yet His perfect plan prevails, working through both acceptance and
resistance to accomplish His purposes.
Watch Sermon HERE.
God's work often surprises us by appearing in unexpected places and through unexpected people. We might think we know exactly who would be interested in hearing about Jesus, but God's reach extends far beyond our assumptions. Like the Roman proconsul in Acts, seekers of truth can be found in places we least expect. God is constantly at work, drawing people to Himself from every walk of life, every background, and every circumstance. Our role isn't to predetermine who might be receptive to God's message, but to be ready to share His love with everyone we meet. When we release our preconceptions, we open ourselves to witnessing God's amazing work in the most surprising places.
He was with the proconsul, Sergius Paulus, a man of intelligence, who summoned Barnabas and Saul and sought to hear the word of God…Then the proconsul believed, when he saw what had occurred, for he was astonished at the teaching of the Lord.
-- Acts 13:7,12
Who in your life have you possibly overlooked as someone who might be seeking God?
With God, we must check at the door
all preconceived notions about
who we think may or may not be interested in hearing the gospel.
Because God will move in anybody's heart.
