The Good News You’ve Been Waiting For Day 5
Day 5: A New Heart
Find Sunday’s Sermon HERE
The human heart universally longs for forgiveness, cleansing, and justification - needs that can't be satisfied through worldly success or achievements. The resurrection of Jesus proves His death was sufficient payment for our sins, offering complete forgiveness through faith rather than personal merit. This transformative truth invites us to stop trying to prove our worth through achievements and instead receive God's acceptance as a gift through trusting in Christ. True belief goes beyond intellectual agreement to complete trust in Jesus, resulting in perfect standing before God.
Devotional
Change from the inside out - isn't that what we all really want? Not just behavior modification, but true transformation. God promises exactly that. He doesn't just forgive our sins; He gives us a new heart. When we trust in Jesus, God begins a profound work of renewal in us. He removes our heart of stone and gives us a heart that beats in rhythm with His. This isn't about trying harder to be good - it's about receiving a new nature that naturally wants to follow God.
And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.
- Ezekiel 36:26
Reflection Question
In what areas of your life do you see God transforming your heart's desires to align more with His?
The good news is that the promises are fulfilled by the risen Jesus,
not by your performance.
